Top 5 Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much does it cost each week?
There is no set price. Traditionally, a small donation is given when visiting the ghaniga with all donations going toward the work of the Mir Sufi Centre. If you're not sure what to give, £5.00 is a useful guideline, if you can afford it.

2. What is a ghaniga?
Ghaniga is a place where people gather for meditation. It may be a purpose-built place, or simply a spare room in a seekers home. It doesn't matter, the point is the intention of getting together and seeking the Beloved.

3. Is Sufi meditation associated with any cult or religion?
No, neither. We respect the essence of all religion but we're not a part of any of them. Sufism is really a way of life, it's about seeking while at the same time continuing with the daily life. It's about balancing both worlds.

4. Who typically attends the sessions?
From time-to-time the Master of the Path, Mir Mahmoud Hadian, attends ghanigas (usually notice is given to the seekers there). Otherwise, the ghaniga is attended by beginners, established students and the person or family running the ghaniga. Each week is different.

5. What should I wear?
Whatever you feel most comfortable in, though traditionally white coloured clothing is worn for Sufi meditation.
